Life is not a bed of beautiful roses or flowers. You've got some prickly thorns in there that surprise you!

Some days I'm just like throw the whole day away and start over tomorrow...You know those days when it seems like you can't get anything done. The kids are acting out. The job is getting on your nerves or the people at your job are getting on your nerves. Those are the days that I want to go home and shut everything out and up that I can and shut the door. But, that's impossible. Why? Because I have my beautiful little milk monster (like the Cookie monster on Sesame Street) ready for a bottle at any moment and I have my precious and handsome little minion that is always looking for direction.

So while I'd love to just lay down in the bed for at least an hour in total silence, the chances of that happening are a big fat zero. Even if I get 15 minutes to myself, my knight and shining armor will come into the room like this with his "save me face on" LOL.

Somehow, I have to find a way to reset...start completely over.

Every minute is new!

We see brand new mercies everyday but also in each minute of the day. Each minute and second after the present (as in what's happening now) is new. This means that within a minute what just took place in your present just became your past. Isn't that amazing?! AND you can begin again with a fresh perspective!

So when you're feeling worn or stressed about your day just tell yourself, WAIT A MINUTE! Waiting a minute changes the moment but only if you can release the past.

As a matter of fact, this is going to take some practice so let's do it together. I haven't mastered it yet either.

Scenario

Person: Very upset and it's directed to you but not necessarily about you

You: Deep breaths (as many as you need to keep you from saying anything in the moment but don't hold your jaws too tight or you may lock them)...only respond if you have to

Person: Leaves

You: After they leave, WAIT A MINUTE and let the moment pass. Some of you may take a whole hour or a DAY but make sure you WAIT A MINUTE before you unleash that past moment on somebody else.

The whole point of the exercise was to get you to see that you can begin again and start new at any moment.

Don't let your bad minutes determine your future. Bad days really aren't bad the whole day. You just had some bad minutes in the day that you couldn't release. After all, you can't move forward if you continue to look backwards. Newness starts the minute that you decide it does.

Take the ladder up and don't look back.

Rosalind

If I had a $100 for every time I heard something about forgiveness this week, I would at least have $1000! Offenses are on the rise like...
